Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer We’ll look to you to deliver the engineering of infrastructure technologies for cloud-based data and AI platformsIn order to achieve a first-class customer experience, you’ll make sure that the project deliverables can achieve the customers’ goals, within a well-considered total cost of ownershipYou’ll work with colleagues across the bank, allowing you to expand your network and gain exposure for you and your workYou'll help shape the future of our AWS data platform, driving automation, self-service capabilities and engineering excellence across our cloud environment What you'll do As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns, CI/CD pipelines and self-service capabilities across AWS cloud environments, while supporting secure, scalable and resilient data platform services using technologies including Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation and Sagemaker unified studio. You’ll be working on service or change initiatives, ensuring their availability and maintaining, managing and deploying technology infrastructure on behalf of either the function or investment projects. You'll also be working closely with architecture teams to translate agreed designs into secure, scalable and reusable cloud platform solutions You’ll Also Be Reviewing deployment documentation for all departmental infrastructure components from application and developmentProviding a base build for the development environment for the system and handover to the application and development teamsBuilding the user acceptance testing environment for the system and managing all updates to the departmental infrastructure during the migration phase of the systemCreating technical test plans and recording results for the infrastructure components, as well as engaging the application and development teams to assist with conducting these testsCreating technical implementation plans and running books for system deliveriesWorking across multiple feature teams to promote engineering standards, reusable patterns and Platform-as-a-Product principles The skills you'll need To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong understanding of infrastructure engineering and how resilient, cost-effective platforms support business and customer outcomes. You'll have experience building and managing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, alongside cloud-native CI/CD platforms. You'll also have hands-on knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Lake Formation and Sagemaker unified studio, with an understanding of data governance, security and access management across cloud environments. You’ll Also Demonstrate A broad understanding of infrastructure layers or stack, with a broad knowledge across multiple platforms, such as mainframe, middleware, network or deeper specialismAn understanding of the roadmap of your area of expertiseThe ability to work with design authorities to deploy cost effective and resilient solutionsSignificant experience of contributing to roadmaps and strategies, and working closely with third parties, assuring output and managing performanceExperience implementing secure, reusable and self-service platform capabilities within cloud environmentsAwareness of emerging data and AI services, such as Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker, and their adoption within secure and governed enterprise platformsGood collaboration and influencing skills
