Description
About Sevens
Sevens is developing a next-generation connectivity solution for mobile users and distributed assets.
We are currently advancing our first integrated hardware prototype and are looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to help bring the product from technical requirements to a working device.
The successful candidate will work closely with the founding team to translate the hardware requirements into a functional prototype.
Position Summary
The Embedded Systems Engineer will be responsible for the embedded system integration and development of Sevens' first hardware prototype.
This is a hands-on role focused on component integration, embedded systems, connectivity, hardware/software interfacing, testing, and prototype development.
Key Responsibilities
Prototype Development
Review and translate the existing Technical Requirements Document into an implementable embedded system.Evaluate and select appropriate components based on the established technical requirements.Develop the embedded system architecture required to integrate the device components.Integrate and configure the required computing, communications, connectivity, positioning, power, and peripheral components.Build and test the first functional hardware prototype.Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
Embedded Systems & Connectivity
Develop and configure the embedded computing environment.Integrate cellular, satellite, wireless, positioning, and other required communication interfaces.Support eSIM/eUICC integration and connectivity management.Establish communication between the device hardware and Sevens' existing software.Implement device-level connectivity monitoring and switching functionality as defined by the technical requirements.Work with existing software and engineering resources to ensure reliable end-to-end operation.
Testing & Validation
Develop and execute functional tests against the TRD.Validate individual components and complete system integration.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software issues.Document test results, issues, and technical changes.Support iterative improvements to the prototype.
Cross-Functional Development
Work closely with the Electrical/Hardware Engineer on hardware and power integration.Work with the Firmware/Connectivity Engineer on low-level device functionality and communications.Collaborate with the Industrial Designer on component placement and physical device requirements.Work with the founding team to ensure the prototype remains aligned with the product requirements.
