SAP BTP Developer - AI Applications

Role Summary Duration: 12-month contract with the possibility of extensionWork model: 100% remoteIndustry: Pharmaceuticals / Life SciencesLanguage: English — full professional proficiency About The Role We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP Developer to build AI-powered applications and extensions for a client in the pharmaceutical industry. You will combine SAP development expertise with generative AI and agent-based technologies to support business processes. Working with SAP Joule, AI Core, Generative AI Hub and external AI platforms, you will contribute across the delivery lifecycle — from design and development to deployment and production support. Key Responsibilities Develop AI-enabled applications on SAP BTP using CAP (Node.js), CDS, SAP HANA Cloud and Cloud Foundry.Build custom Joule Skills and AI agents using Joule Studio and Agent Builder.Integrate AI services and models through SAP Generative AI Hub and external platforms such as OpenAI, Azure AI and Anthropic.Implement RAG, prompt engineering and AI evaluation techniques.Build and maintain SAPUI5 / Fiori applications and integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.Support workflow automation using SAP Build Process Automation.Ensure solutions meet security, compliance and enterprise architecture standards.Contribute to testing, CI/CD, deployment and production operations. Required Skills & Experience 5–7 years of SAP development experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on SAP BTP experience.Strong knowledge of SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, CAP/CAPM (Node.js), CDS, SAP HANA Cloud and SAPUI5 / Fiori.Hands-on experience with SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub and Joule Studio.Experience integrating external AI platforms and LLMs.Experience delivering at least one AI, GenAI or Agentic AI solution into production.Proficiency with REST APIs, OData services, Git, CI/CD and cloud-native development.Understanding of OAuth 2.0, IAS, XSUAA and role-based access control (RBAC).Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with English at full professional proficiency. Nice to Have Experience with SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Work Zone or SAP Event Mesh.Familiarity with SAP Cloud SDK for AI and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations.SAP BTP certifications.Experience working in Agile teams.
