Description: About The Role We are looking for a motivated and curious Software Developer to join our Technology team on a 4-month fixed-term contract to support a specific project - to help design and build an integration middleware. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid development experience who can contribute quickly across a modern Microsoft and Azure technology stack. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of a new integration middleware connecting internal and third-party systems. You will work across technologies including .NET, Azure, SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure Functions, developing and integrating with APIs to deliver secure and reliable solutions. Reporting to the Senior Software Engineer and working closely with team members and stakeholders, you will help translate business needs into practical, high-quality solutions while contributing to code reviews, documentation, and technical best practices. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of full stack solutions using Microsoft technologies Developing backend services, APIs, and serverless components using .NET and Azure Functions Supporting secure and reliable integrations with internal and third-party systems and APIs Working with SQL Server / Azure SQL and Cosmos DB, including querying, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement Diagnosing and resolving application issues across development, test, and production environments Participating in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, and documentation Supporting DevOps and deployment processes including source control, CI/CD, and releases Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver practical solutions in line with security, privacy, and governance best practice Skills and Experiences: About you: You are a proactive and solutions-focused developer who takes ownership and follows through on commitments. You enjoy working across different technologies and take pride in delivering high-quality, reliable solutions within agreed timeframes. You bring solid commercial experience in software development, a curious mindset, and the ability to get up to speed quickly and work well with others across the Microsoft and Azure stack. To succeed in this role, you will have: Experience in software development using C# and .NET Experience developing and integrating with REST APIs, including third-party or SaaS platforms (e.g. ASP.NET Core or similar) Familiarity with SQL Server or Azure SQL, including writing and troubleshooting queries, and experience using Microsoft Azure (e.g. Azure Functions, App Services, Storage, Key Vault) Familiarity with source control tools such as Git; CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) is desirable Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to investigate and learn Exposure to Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases, secure coding practices, and Agile delivery is highly regarded Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders A curious, practical, solutions-focused mindset, open to feedback and committed to delivering outcomes Why work with us?
