Role Overview Our 27 person-strong product engineering org is looking for an Engineering Manager, Delivery to join in a newly created role to own the direct people management of two out of our three squads, as well as the delivery across the whole engineering org. Reporting to the CTO & Cofounder, you’ll work alongside a Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with two Tech Leads. We’ve traditionally hired very capable senior ICs at Push and the time has come to level up the org by bringing in a modern engineering manager to help increase our velocity and help the team perform at their peak. Our product engineering org is split across the UK and South Africa, and the ideal candidate for this role will be based either in the UK or on the East Coast of the US (if willing to work UK-compatible hours). What You'll Do Take over the direct people management of our web and extension teams (totaling 9 ICs) from the technical leads allowing them to focus on doing their best technical workCollaborate with the CTO, VP of Product and Director of Engineering to deeply understand our codebase, product roadmap and current engineering process and progressively take over ownership of deliveryBe a safe pair of hands our CTO and Director of Engineering can rely upon What We're Looking For Technical credibility - our team is very technically strong and the ability to get up to speed on all facets of our product and code base quickly is the only way to succeed in this roleYour technical background is likely in complex backend or platform engineering on AWSYour proven strength is solving problems via people, organisation and process improvements - not by writing code yourself, nor acting as a Technical Program ManagerYou have experience leading teams shipping complex products that collect and process huge amounts of dataYou love the startup environment, have lots of ideas on things that everyone else gets wrong about engineering managementYou’re AI-native and have automated several key aspects of your team’s workCybersecurity experience is a huge bonus What We Offer We take care of our UK team with private medical insurance through Bupa, life assurance for financial peace of mind for your loved ones, and a salary sacrifice pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution.
