The role… The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle support of industrial control systems and instrumentation of Distributed Control Systems for the facility's continuous board manufacturing equipment. instrumentation of Distributed Control Systems and automated machinery in our Middletown, Ohio facility. This position serves as the technical expert for control systems supporting board machine and other continuous process equipment directly involved in manufacturing. How You’ll Make An Impact… Manage and support plant control systems: Design, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, drives, motors, and industrial networks supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. Lead automation projects and improvements: Manage control system upgrades, machine automation, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives from planning and installation through commissioning and startup. Provide technical troubleshooting and production support: Serve as the site technical expert for complex automation issues, provide on-call support when needed, and work with Operations and Maintenance to resolve equipment and process problems. Ensure compliance, safety, and documentation: Maintain control systems and projects in compliance with OSHA, electrical, environmental, cybersecurity, and company standards while developing engineering standards, programming documentation, and work instructions. Lead teams and collaborate across the organization: Direct and develop Controls Engineers and Technicians, coordinate daily work and resources, oversee contractors, and collaborate with local and global engineering teams to improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity. What Do You Bring… Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field required.10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process controls, or manufacturing systems; paper manufacturing experience preferred. 8+ years leading and providing technical training and mentoring skills. Proven experience managing and leading technical teams, with strong capabilities in project management and resource planning. Extensive programming and engineering proficiency in ABB DCS, Siemens, Allen Bradley, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking, and instrumentation.Demonstrated project management skills including new equipment install, start-up to commissioning; capital projects and automation/continuous improvement projects. Project Management certification a plus. Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects while supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment What do we offer?
