ROLE SUMMARY: FTSE Russell, a leader in global indexing and analytics, is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer and build robust, scalable applications that support trillions in assets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development, the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion and willingness to learn. As the Software Engineer, you will be involved developing and supporting delivery of various engineering and automation initiatives. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality software on time, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: As a Senior Engineer, you’ll build with purpose — solving real-world problems with measurable impact. Design, build, and scale next-gen index platforms used by global financial institutions.Develop clean, efficient, and secure backend code in C# .NET and cloud-native architectures.Create intuitive, responsive UIs using Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks.Implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and automated CI/CD pipelines for rapid delivery.Work with big data systems and databases like SQL Server, Sybase, and PostgreSQL.Help shape a world-class engineering culture.Partner with global teams to define new solutions across cloud, data, and analytics.Analyse production problems & provide troubleshooting & support.Work with upstream and downstream development teams to implement functionality.Work with QA teams to design test cases and to implement automated test drivers.Promote a culture of teamwork, high performance and quality via code reviews, ensuring standards and best practices are followed via agile methodologies.Communicate with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a clear and concise format that is appropriate for the audienceDrive a culture of engineering excellence and promote standard methodologies in software design and development Tech Stack You’ll Work On Backend: C# .NET, tSQL, RESTful APIs, microservicesFrontend: Angular, JavaScript, HTML5/CSSCloud: AWS (EC2, Lambda, Glue, EKS, SQS, SNS)Databases: SQL Server, Sybase, PostgreSQLTesting: MSTest, tSQLt, BDD tools (Cucumber, Mocha)CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform Experience we value: Solid experience in UI development for business-critical applications in Angular (8 and above), Java Script, HTML/CSS, C#Exposure to AWS services Personal traits you should have: Excellent attention to detail and an ability to think laterally to solve business problems.Ability to hit the ground running, learn quickly and work against tight deadlines.Creative, results driven, self-motivated, and solutions oriented.Demonstrates a can-do attitude, exhibits self-confidence and has excellent interpersonal and time management skillsAble to establish credibility quickly.
