Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer | Bristol | £55,000–£65,000 DOE Location: Bristol – Hybrid/Flexible Salary: £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience Role: Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical building services engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to lead projects, provide technical leadership, manage client relationships and mentor junior engineers. The role will involve working across a diverse range of projects, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, retail, leisure, industrial and infrastructure. Key responsibilities: Lead and undertake electrical building services design across a range of projectsProvide technical leadership and develop effective engineering solutionsLiaise with clients, consultants and contractorsManage electrical design deliverables, programmes and project teamsProduce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentationUndertake feasibility studies, site surveys and cost estimatesCoordinate electrical design with other engineering disciplinesSupport project delivery through the various RIBA work stagesIdentify and manage design risks in line with CDM requirementsSupport business development and bid preparationLead, mentor and develop junior engineersContribute to sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions The ideal candidate will have: HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related disciplineStrong experience in electrical building services designExperience with electrical supply and distribution systemsLighting design and electrical load assessment experienceKnowledge of standby generation, UPS, earthing and bondingGood knowledge of the 18th Edition IET Wiring RegulationsExperience working on multidisciplinary construction or building projectsUnderstanding of RIBA work stages and CDMExperience with software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux, Relux or NavisworksIET or CIBSE membership would be advantageousChartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional registrationStrong communication, project management and leadership skillsFull UK driving licence The package includes: £55,000–£65,000 salary depending on experienceHybrid and flexible working25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays6% contributory pensionProfessional membership supportCycle to work schemeVolunteering dayFlexible working hoursCareer progression and professional development opportunities This is a confidential opportunity, so further details on the organisation will be provided during the recruitment process.
