Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer | Hedge Fund | London | up to £300k TC You don't need a hedge fund background for this one. You need to know how to run Kubernetes at serious scale. I'm partnered with one of the leading funds in London and New York, and they're investing heavily in Platform Engineering and Developer Experience. This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone coming from a high-scale technology environment who wants to take on a bigger engineering challenge without needing finance on their CV. The team builds the platforms that enable engineers, researchers and investment teams to build, test, ship and run software at serious scale. You'll be working on large-scale, highly distributed infrastructure, solving the kinds of engineering problems that come with supporting a global technology organisation. The focus is on building reliable platforms, improving developer experience and making it easier for engineers to ship software at scale. You'll be running Kubernetes clusters, working at the infrastructure level and getting into low-level configuration, including technologies such as Istio. What you'll bring Strong experience in Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOpsHands-on experience running and managing Kubernetes clustersComfortable working with Kubernetes at a low level, including configuration and troubleshootingExperience with Istio or service mesh technologiesStrong software engineering skills, ideally with Python or GoExperience working with large-scale, distributed systemsStrong Terraform / infrastructure-as-code experienceDeep CI/CD and automation experienceExperience operating production systems across cloud and on-prem Why consider it?
