The Role
For our production plant in Amsterdam, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer who will also act as the Operational Installation Responsible (OIV).
In this key role, you are responsible for the safe and reliable operation of all electrical installations at our PPG Amsterdam site.
You also play an important part in the engineering and execution of electrical CAPEX and OPEX projects.
You act as the main technical point of contact for electrical engineering within the plant and work closely with Maintenance, Operations, EHS, and external partners.
Your Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & Projects
Design, review, and implement electrical installations and modificationsTechnical responsibility for CAPEX and OPEX projects from design to commissioningDevelop, maintain, and ensure compliance with electrical standards and documentationSupport root cause analyses and initiate structural improvements
Operational Installation Responsible (OIV)
Act formally as OIV in accordance with NEN 3140 / NEN 3840Ensure the safe operation of all electrical installationsPrepare, review, and approve plans and work permitsSupervise maintenance activities and contractorsEnsure compliance with laws, regulations, inspections, and auditsActively contribute to EHS objectives and risk management
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with internal departments such as Maintenance, Operations, and EHSManage and supervise external suppliers and contractorsAdvise site management on safety, risks, and investments
Who Are You?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)Experience in CAPEX project delivery and OPEX planningAt least 5 years experience in a similar roleExperience in an industrial production environment is highly preferredStrong technical understanding of electrical engineeringExperience as OIV or willingness to formally take on this roleStrong knowledge of NEN 3140, NEN 3840, and relevant regulationsHigh safety awareness and strong sense of responsibilityAnalytical, decisive, and strong communication skillsAble to work independently and set prioritiesProfessional working proficiency in Dutch and English
