The firm operates in a research-driven environment and manages diversified investment portfolios across multiple asset classes, with a strong focus on long-term investment strategies and disciplined portfolio management. To support its investment operations, reporting, and business processes, the organization relies on a variety of Microsoft Excel-based applications, VBA macros, data imports, data transformations, reconciliations, and report generation workflows. Many of these solutions have evolved over time and play a critical role in supporting operational activities, reporting requirements, and business decision-making. As part of a continuous improvement initiative, the organization is seeking a consultant with strong Excel and VBA expertise to assess existing processes and supporting tools, identify operational risks and inefficiencies, and recommend opportunities for automation, optimization, and enhanced controls. Business Context The consultant will work in an environment where Excel-based tools support operational and reporting processes associated with investment management activities. This mandate requires the ability to understand both the technical components of existing Excel/VBA solutions and the business workflows they support, with a focus on process reliability, efficiency, transparency, and risk reduction. Responsibilities The consultant will be responsible for: Reviewing and documenting current end-to-end processes, including both manual and automated activities.Analyzing Excel workbooks, VBA macros, external data sources, interfaces, reports, and process dependencies.Assessing how existing operational and reporting activities are supported by Excel-based solutions.Identifying inefficiencies, operational risks, bottlenecks, control weaknesses, and areas for improvement.Providing recommendations to enhance processes, controls, and supporting technologies.Contributing ideas aimed at improving efficiency, reliability, scalability, and maintainability of existing solutions.
