Senior Software Engineer - Python DevOps

Role focus: Python engineering and DevOps enablement, with Jira management and Scrum delivery support as secondary responsibilities. Position Summary We are looking for a technically strong Software Engineer with deep Python expertise and practical DevOps experience to build, deploy, operate, and improve technology solutions across multiple initiatives. The role is primarily focused on software engineering, automation, CI/CD, production reliability, and platform enablement. Jira management and Scrum delivery coordination form a secondary part of the role, helping the team maintain delivery discipline and visibility. Engineering and DevOps Responsibilities · Design, develop, and maintain Python applications, APIs, automation utilities, and services. · Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, security checks, packaging, and deployment. · Automate environment configuration, release activities, operational checks, and recurring engineering tasks. · Support containerized application deployment using Docker or equivalent technologies. · Improve observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards. · Promote secure, reliable, and maintainable engineering practices through design and code reviews. · Support production releases, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service recovery. · Drive developer productivity, platform modernization, and operational resilience initiatives. Secondary: Jira and Scrum Delivery Responsibilities · Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery tracking. · Maintain Jira epics, stories, tasks, dependencies, and release information. · Help ensure work items have clear scope, ownership, acceptance criteria, and status. · Facilitate Agile ceremonies when required. · Track delivery risks, dependencies, blockers, and action items. · Prepare concise delivery updates and Jira-based progress reporting. Required Technical Skills · 5-10 years of software development experience. · Strong Python, REST API, SQL, Linux, and shell scripting experience. · Strong software design, architecture, and distributed systems fundamentals. · Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. · Experience with Git-based development workflows. · Working knowledge of containers and deployment platforms. · Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting operational issues. DevOps and Operational Skills · CI/CD pipeline design, maintenance, and troubleshooting. · Build, packaging, release, and deployment automation. · Environment configuration and application deployment practices. · Monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability concepts. · Incident support, root cause analysis, and operational readiness. · Secure software delivery and engineering control awareness.
