Development and Testing Project Engineer

Project Engineer – Engine Development & Testing (m/f/d) Location: Bochum | 3 days onsite Duration: 12 months (Extendable) Harvey nash is seeking for Development and Testing Project Engineer. Someone who is passionate about engine technology, testing, and product development to join a global technology team focused on developing next-generation engine lubricant solutions for leading automotive OEMs industry. Your Responsibilities Lead and coordinate engine development and testing projects from planning through execution and delivery.Support the development and validation of advanced engine oil formulations, including critical First Fill products for OEM production programs.Plan and manage engine and rig test programs, ensuring milestones, quality standards, and timelines are achieved.Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Development, OEM Liaison, and operational teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.Analyze large volumes of test data using modern analytical tools to generate technical insights and support development decisions.Prepare technical reports and present test results to internal stakeholders and external partners.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within test facilities, testing methodologies, and data evaluation processes.Support modernization and development of engine test infrastructure and testing capabilities.Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001 standards.Build strong relationships with OEM customers, technology partners, and internal stakeholders. Your Profile Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience in engine development, validation, or test bench environments.Hands-on expertise with engine dynamometer/testing operations and test automation systems.Knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuels, lubricants, and performance testing methodologies.Experience working with data analysis tools such as Python, JMP, or similar platforms.Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent German and very good English language skills.Self-driven, team-oriented, and motivated to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
