Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Remote-first from Manchester, London or Cheltenham with travel | £70,000 - £80,000 We're working with a specialist technology consultancy delivering secure cloud and infrastructure solutions into highly regulated environments. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team working on complex cloud, infrastructure and cyber-focused programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys remaining hands-on technically whilst also contributing to solution design, technical leadership and stakeholder engagement. The Role You'll be responsible for designing, building and supporting secure, scalable cloud and infrastructure platforms using Infrastructure as Code, automation and modern DevSecOps practices. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you'll play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support. This position offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects where security, resilience and automation are at the heart of everything delivered. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain secure cloud and infrastructure platformsDevelop Infrastructure as Code solutions using modern toolingAutomate infrastructure provisioning, deployment and operational processesImplement and improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering practicesApply security-by-design and Zero Trust principles across infrastructure solutionsProduce high and low-level technical designs and supporting documentationWork closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define requirements and technical solutionsProvide technical guidance and support to engineering teamsEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to platforms and delivery approaches Required skills Strong experience designing and supporting Azure and/or AWS cloud infrastructure.Hands-on expertise with Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code practices.Experience with Kubernetes, Docker or OpenShift environments.Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python or Bash.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tooling.Experience applying security-by-design and Zero Trust principles.Ability to produce technical designs, documentation and solution proposals.Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
