Description

Location: Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain Job overview As a Backend Engineer, you will help design, build and evolve backend services that support our customer-facing digital experiences. You will work mainly with C#/.NET and Azure in a microservices environment, collaborating closely with engineers, QA and Product. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle - from understanding customer and business needs to implementation, testing, deployment and production support - while continuing to grow your technical ownership and impact within the team. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain clean, scalable backend services using C# and .NET. Build solutions based on customer and business needs. Contribute to reliable architecture, performance, security and maintainability. Write unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reduce regressions. Investigate and solve technical issues across services and components. Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with Product, QA and other engineering teams. Share knowledge and contribute to improving engineering practices within the team. Requirements Strong experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core. Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures. Experience building and maintaining production backend systems. Experience with SQL databases. Experience with unit and integration testing. Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Azure. Comfortable with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices. Ability to understand business and customer needs and contribute to technical solutions. Collaborative mindset and comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Good written and spoken English. Curious, pragmatic and motivated to continuously learn and grow. Valid work permit in the EU. Nice to have Experience with Azure Service Bus and event-driven systems. Experience with NoSQL databases, such as Cosmos DB. Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience. Experience with observability, monitoring and production support. Experience building backend services consumed by iOS/Android applications. Authentication and authorization experience, such as OAuth/OIDC or Auth0/Okta. Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar.
