About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled JavaScript Developer to join our dynamic team remotely within the United States, excluding specific states and districts. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that improve services for veterans, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in JavaScript and related frameworks, with experience in building scalable, secure, and efficient applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet client needs and adhere to federal standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in JavaScript development, with a proven track record of delivering complex applications. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Essential skills include proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, extensive experience with React 18, and familiarity with GitHub for source control management. Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, as well as CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, is essential. Candidates should have experience supporting federal agencies, preferably within healthcare environments, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and support development in a fast-paced setting is critical. Prior experience with healthcare systems and federal security protocols is preferred. Responsibilities The JavaScript Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient, reliable, and secure JavaScript applications using React 18. You will support and design applications with TypeScript, ensuring code quality and performance. Deployment of applications will involve creating Docker containers and managing them using Kubernetes, including building, testing, and promoting container images. You will develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services to extend application functionality. Building and supporting CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and monitoring will be a key part of your role. You will perform code reviews, troubleshoot defects, and implement fixes to ensure high standards of quality. Monitoring system health and metrics through tools like Prometheus and Grafana dashboards is essential for maintaining optimal performance. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with team members, participate in Agile ceremonies, and maintain comprehensive documentation of all development activities. Your role will also involve supporting containerization efforts and ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.
