Lead Senior Full Stack Engineer

🚨 NEW ROLE — Lead / Senior Full-Stack Engineer | Chicago, IL I’m working on a unique opportunity for a Lead / Senior Engineer to become the founding technical member of a newly formed People Technology team. 📍 Chicago, Illinois — 3 days onsite per week 💰 $140K–$180K base + annual bonus + comprehensive benefits This is not a traditional management role. You’ll be the initial technical owner of a suite of HR-focused applications, working directly with HR leadership and stakeholders while remaining hands-on with the code. You’ll have the opportunity to: • Own the technical direction and roadmap across multiple applications • Assess existing platforms for modernization, technical debt and scalability • Partner directly with Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Talent Management and HR Leadership • Build and ship production applications across a modern full-stack environment • Help establish engineering processes, support models and technical standards • Help define and hire the next engineer on the team Core tech stack: Python TypeScript / React PostgreSQL FastAPI / Flask Next.js Ruby I’m looking for someone who has a strong full-stack engineering background and is comfortable operating with a high level of autonomy and ownership. Previous technical/team leadership experience is highly valuable, as is experience working with HR systems, HRIS/ATS platforms or enterprise integrations.
