Summary Of The Job The Software Engineer (P2) at FNBO is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven software solutions that support the bank's business objectives. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver reliable, scalable solutions built on a foundation of strong SQL, AWS cloud services, and Python development skills. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of hands-on experience, a solid understanding of cloud-based architectures, and a service-oriented mindset focused on delivering measurable business value. Required About This Role: SQL (Advanced): Solid proficiency in writing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling for relational databases. AWS: Working knowledge of core AWS services including Lambda, EventBridge, S3, RDS, and Glue. Ability to build and support cloud-based solutions in a hybrid environment. Python: Hands-on experience writing Python scripts and applications for data processing, automation, or backend services. GitLab & CI/CD: Experience using GitLab for version control and working within CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows. Experience: 3–5 years of professional software development experience. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and delivering business value. Desired React: Familiarity with building front-end interfaces using React, including component-based architecture and state management. Java & Spring Boot: Exposure to Java development and Spring Boot framework, including RESTful API design and microservices concepts. Financial services industry experience with an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements. Experience with additional AWS services such as Redshift, Athena, or API Gateway. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. Knowledge of application security best practices and OWASP standards. The Ideal Candidate For This Role Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and software solutions using SQL, Python, and AWS services. Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, reporting, and performance tuning. Develop and deploy serverless functions and event-driven workflows using AWS Lambda and EventBridge. Work with AWS data services including S3, RDS, and Glue to build and maintain scalable data solutions. Write clean, efficient Python scripts and applications to support automation, data processing, and business logic. Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand and implement technical requirements. Manage source code using GitLab, following established branching strategies and CI/CD pipeline workflows. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues. Write and execute test plans to ensure software quality and reliability. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Document technical specifications, designs, and processes. Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship. Compensation Compensation range (base pay): $79,363.00-$130,949.00 This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level. Work Environment It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
