Within Parker Aerospace, the Motion, Power & Sensing Division (MPSD) brings together specialist capability in motion control, electrical power, and high-integrity sensing for commercial and military aerospace applications. Our Fareham site is part of MPSD and plays an important role in the design and development of advanced avionics and sensor technologies. The team works on complex, safety-critical products that must perform reliably in demanding aerospace environments while meeting strict requirements for quality, compliance, cost, weight, and size. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our mechanical engineering team and support the design and development of advanced aerospace products, including avionics and sensor technologies for commercial and military applications. This is a key role within the engineering function, providing technical judgement, design ownership, and engineering assurance across the full product development lifecycle. You will develop robust, compliant, and manufacturable mechanical designs that meet demanding customer, regulatory, environmental, cost, weight, and schedule requirements. What You’ll Be Doing Developing mechanical design solutions for complex aerospace products and systems.Creating conceptual designs, models, analyses, and supporting technical documentation.Managing mechanical engineering requirements and demonstrating compliance through test, inspection, analysis, and design evidence.Working closely with Systems, Electronics, Hardware, Manufacturing, Quality, suppliers, and customers.Supporting NPI, product improvement, and operational engineering activities.Planning and coordinating your own work and supporting less experienced engineers.Contributing to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and ways of working. What We’re Looking For Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.Around 6–8 years’ aerospace engineering experience.Strong 3D modelling and 2D drawing capability, ideally with SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor.Good understanding of GD&T, configuration control, and change management.Experience with FEA and Design FMEAs.Ability to solve complex technical problems and make sound engineering decisions.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience supporting or leading other mechanical engineers would be beneficial.
