Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description As part of vector8’s continued growth we are looking to strengthen our DevOps capability in Zurich. We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer who with your skills in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and Docker, will play a key role in helping us build and maintain robust, scalable infrastructure that supports our innovative solutions in our Swiss markets. Building on your experience in Cloud Infrastructures you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies and innovative solutions that create real, measurable business value in production. It is likely that you will have honed your experience in a consultancy, agency, or system integrator environment, ideally with a proportion of your experience in customer facing roles, ideally within the Swiss banking and Insurance sectors. In this role you will need to have professional level German and English language skills (C1) as you will be working closely with customer stakeholders. You will have a demonstrable interest in AI and you’ve actively developed your knowledge of modern AI - generative AI, RAG and agents - and have some understanding of what it takes to deliver these solutions into production. Job Requirements At least 5 years commercial experience with proven experience with Azure or/and AWS cloud platforms Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, especially GitHub Actions Experience with microservices architecture Experience in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Strong collaboration and communication skills – ideally developed in a client facing consultancy environmentBachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline Nice to have Experience working with Generative AI platforms and AI application infrastructureFamiliarity with Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI/LLM platformsUnderstanding of LLMOps concepts including model deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and governanceExperience supporting AI workloads on Kubernetes and GPU-enabled environmentsKnowledge of vector databases, AI gateways, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architecturesFamiliarity with AI security, responsible AI, and data governance considerationsExperience with MLOps/LLMOps tooling such as MLflow, Prompt Flow, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar frameworksUnderstanding of modern AI agent architectures and orchestration frameworksExposure to infrastructure optimization for AI workloads, including scaling, performance, and cost management Job Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes Manage container orchestration and GitOps requirements using Kubernetes and Docker Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability Implement and manage infrastructure as code solutions Understanding of networking security concepts, including ingress and egress controls, to ensure secure and compliant infrastructure management.
