Senior Backend Developer (Java & AI Agents)

Popis pracovnej pozície We’re looking for a senior backend developer to build and run services in production. About half your time goes into Java and Quarkus microservices for our corporate underwriting and offer platform. The other half goes into Python AI agents for our group agentic AI platform, so you don’t have to choose between classic backend engineering and agent work. AI-assisted development is part of how we work every day. What you will work on Build and run backend microservices in Java and Quarkus. Design REST APIs contract first in OpenAPI, and build a backend-for-frontend layer. Wire up event-driven integrations on Azure Service Bus, with AsyncAPI contracts. Take AI agents in Python and LangGraph from graph design (state, nodes, routing) to production. Write agent workers on Azure Service Bus queues and topics, with error and dead-letter handling. Add human-in-the-loop review steps so business experts can approve, edit or reject agent recommendations. Connect agents to LLMs and embeddings through a governed AI gateway. Trace agent runs with OpenTelemetry or similar to debug, evaluate and track cost. Keep retrieval (RAG) and agent state in PostgreSQL with pgvector. Integrate agents with core insurance systems and expose backend APIs they can call safely. Own your services from design and delivery to deployment and operation. Improve CI/CD in GitLab CI and GitHub Actions, tighten quality and security gates, and make services easier to test and observe. Use AI assistants throughout your everyday development work.
