Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Systems Integration Developer to architect, build, and maintain integrations between various software systems, platforms, and applications. As a senior member of the team, you will own integration architecture end to end — from gathering requirements with stakeholders through design, delivery, debugging, and long-term support — while mentoring other developers and championing the responsible use of AI in both development and business processes. This role is critical in ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability between platforms such as ERP, CRM, and cloud services. You’ll work at the intersection of business operations and technology, applying systems thinking and technical expertise to deliver scalable integration solutions that drive efficiency and innovation. Key Responsibilities Requirements Gathering & Analysis · Lead requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, process owners, and vendors to understand goals, pain points, and success criteria · Document current-state and future-state processes, data flows, and system touchpoints · Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria · Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and constraints early, and propose practical options with trade-offs · Prioritize and manage integration backlogs in partnership with stakeholders, balancing business value, effort, and risk · Validate delivered solutions against requirements and drive sign-off with business owners Integration Development · Build robust, scalable integrations between ERP, CRM, and other business-critical systems · Design and develop solutions to connect disparate systems · Maintain data quality and synchronization across systems using APIs and webhooks · Own the full integration lifecycle from design and build through testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization · Implement event-driven, batch, and real-time integration patterns using message queues, middleware, and iPaaS tools as appropriate · Design for resilience, including idempotency, retries, back-pressure, and graceful failure recovery Architecture & Standards · Evaluate and recommend integration technologies, platforms, and methodologies · Create technical specifications, integration blueprints and data mappings · Establish and promote efficient and cost-effective integration standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization · Architect end-to-end integration solutions and define the target-state integration landscape across the organization · Make and document key architectural decisions, including build vs. buy, synchronous vs. asynchronous, and point-to-point vs. hub-based approaches · Design for scalability, performance, security, observability, and total cost of ownership · Lead architecture and design reviews, and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and long-term roadmap · Identify and reduce technical debt, and plan the modernization of legacy integrations Development & Operations · Write clean, well-documented code, primarily in Python and JavaScript · Participate in code reviews and maintain development best practices · Configure and manage cloud-based integration platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) · Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring · Document integration flows, data mappings, and system dependencies · Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions · Implement security protocols and data governance for system connections Debugging & Troubleshooting · Serve as the senior escalation point for complex, cross-system integration failures and production incidents · Diagnose issues across distributed systems by analyzing logs, traces, metrics, API payloads, and data lineage · Perform structured root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes · Reproduce defects in lower environments and build automated tests to prevent regressions · Design and improve observability, alerting, and dashboards so issues are detected and resolved before they affect the business · Lead post-incident reviews and maintain runbooks and troubleshooting guides for the team AI-Enabled Development & Process Automation · Use AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI) to accelerate design, code generation, testing, documentation, and code review, while maintaining high standards for quality and security · Critically review, validate, and test all AI-generated code and output before it reaches production · Identify business processes that can be improved or automated with AI, and design AI-enabled workflows that integrate with ERP, CRM, and other core systems · Build and integrate solutions that use large language model (LLM) APIs, AI agents, and tool/connector frameworks (e.g., Model Context Protocol) for tasks such as data extraction, classification, summarization, and decision support · Design human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and monitoring for AI-driven processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and auditability · Ensure AI use complies with data privacy, security, and governance policies, including appropriate handling of sensitive and customer data · Measure the impact of AI initiatives, and share practices, prompts, and reusable patterns that help the wider organization adopt AI effectively Leadership, Collaboration & Support · Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevSecOps and external vendors as required · Mentor and coach developers through pairing, design guidance, and constructive code reviews · Troubleshoot integration issues and provide ongoing technical support · Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades and migrations · Manage relationships with external vendors and integration partners, including technical evaluation and oversight of delivered work · Communicate status, risks, and technical trade-offs clearly to leadership and non-technical stakeholders Required Qualifications · 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years designing and delivering enterprise system integrations · Expert-level proficiency in Python; strong working knowledge of JavaScript (React, Node.js) · Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) · Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control · Strong experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and both SQL and NoSQL databases · Proven experience building and maintaining system integrations · Experience with enterprise software ecosystems · Demonstrated experience architecting integration solutions, including event-driven, message-based, and API-led patterns · Proven track record leading requirements gathering and translating business needs into technical designs · Advanced debugging skills across distributed, multi-system environments, including log analysis, tracing, and root cause analysis · Hands-on experience using AI development tools in day-to-day engineering work, and applying AI to automate or improve business processes · Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership on projects Preferred Qualifications · Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Epicor) · Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho) · Understanding of security best practices for systems integration · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field · Relevant certifications in cloud or integration technologies · Experience with iPaaS or middleware platforms (e.g., Boomi, Celigo, MuleSoft, Workato, Azure Integration Services) · Experience building with LLM APIs, AI agents, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions · Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI practices, and evaluation of AI output quality · Experience with message brokers and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS) Professional Competencies · Strong systems thinking and ability to understand complex
