Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking experienced Senior Java Software Engineer who can independently lead end-to-end implementation of enterprise-scale risk platforms for banking clients. This role requires a hands-on leader who combines solution architecture capability, strong delivery governance, and customer-facing leadership to drive successful project execution from pre-sales through go-live and stabilization. You are expected to own the technical delivery outcome, not just coordinate—covering solution design, integration architecture, implementation strategy, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities 1. End-to-End Technical Delivery Ownership • Lead full lifecycle delivery: solution design → implementation → integration → UAT → go-live → stabilization • Act as the technical authority for customer projects, ensuring scalable and production-ready solutions • Drive on-time, on-quality delivery under complex, multi-stakeholder environments (client IT, vendors, partners) 2. Solution & Architecture Design • Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions • Design architectures across: o Risk decision engines and rule systems o Data integration (batch/real-time APIs, streaming) o Distributed systems (Kafka, Redis, ES, etc.) o On-premise / private cloud / hybrid deployments • Define high availability, performance, and security architecture aligned with banking standards 3. Implementation & Integration Leadership • Lead integration with client systems: core banking, LOS, payment systems, data platforms • Define data models, API contracts, and system interaction patterns • Guide teams on customization vs. standard product usage, ensuring maintainability and scalability 4. Customer Engagement & Stakeholder Management • Act as primary technical interface to client architects, CIO teams, and delivery partners • Drive technical workshops, architecture reviews, and design approvals • Manage expectations and resolve complex technical escalations 5. Delivery Governance & Risk Control • Establish delivery plans, milestones, and technical checkpoints • Identify and mitigate risks in performance, scalability, and integration complexity • Ensure production readiness, including deployment, rollback, monitoring, and support handover 6. Post-Go-Live & Continuous Improvement • Support stabilization phase and critical issue resolution • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and system optimization • Contribute to delivery best practices, reusable architectures, and standardization Required Qualifications Experience • 8-15+ years in enterprise software delivery / system integration • Proven experience delivering banking or financial systems (risk, fraud, credit, payments, or core systems) • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale implementation projects independently Technical Expertise • Strong architecture experience in: o Distributed systems and microservices o API design (REST/gRPC) o Data processing (real-time & batch) • Familiar with technologies such as: o Kafka / MQ, Redis, Elasticsearch o Relational & NoSQL databases o Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-prem deployments • Solid understanding of: o System integration patterns o High availability & scalability design o Security and compliance in banking environments Delivery & Leadership • Strong project execution capability with clear ownership mindset • Ability to manage cross-functional and cross-cultural teams • Excellent problem-solving and escalation handling skills Communication • Strong client-facing communication skills • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders (Architects, CIO, CTO) • Fluent in English (additional local language is a plus) Preferred Qualifications • Experience in risk control, anti-fraud, or decision engine platforms • Background in consulting firms or SI companies • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in Southeast Asia banking • Experience working in multi-country delivery environments What Success Looks Like • Able to independently lead a project from kickoff to go-live within 3 months • Deliver production-stable systems with minimal post-go-live incidents • Build strong technical trust with client stakeholders • Balance standard product adoption vs. customization effectively Why Join Us • Be part of a fast-growing international expansion in fintech risk solutions • Work on high-impact banking transformation projects across Southeast Asia • Opportunity to shape delivery standards and architecture practices globally • Competitive compensation and career growth in a high-demand domain
