We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly driven candidate to join our Highways Asset Management team at Calderdale Council. We are seeking to recruit an Engineering Team Manager to provide high level expert advice and management to the Highways team in support of all aspects of Highways Asset Management. You will lead, direct and manage the team in ensuring statutory and corporate objectives are delivered and ensuring compliance with requirements as set out in Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016). You will be integral to ensuring the continued successful operation, maintenance and forward planning of the Councils roads, footways, street lighting and public rights of way. You will be responsible for collecting and maintaining condition data for all adopted Highway assets. You will be responsible for the Councils asset management system, and ensuring all data is valid and current. You will need to be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels including multi agency partners, Councillors (Parish, District and County), MPs, utility companies, public transport providers, senior managers as well as members of the public. Excellent communication skills are required to be able to communicate effectively with these stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. With a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, you will have extensive knowledge and experience in Highway asset management and dealing with day-to-day management of the network, with a high level of awareness of relevant legislation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong organisational ability and be familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working. Why Join Us?
