WordPress Developer Hybrid 4 days/week in Uptown Charlotte, NC Summary We are seeking a mid-level WordPress Developer to join an in-house digital development team. This role is focused primarily on WordPress development and front-end web development, with additional responsibility for back-end functionality, APIs, responsive design, and website architecture. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable taking projects from concept through completion, and interested in incorporating AI and emerging technologies into their work. Responsibilities Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites and functionality.Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and website components.Develop responsive, mobile-friendly websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Create engaging user interfaces and website interactions.Develop and integrate APIs with WordPress and other web applications.Contribute to back-end web development and application functionality.Create and maintain databases and supporting web infrastructure.Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress, front-end, and back-end issues.Optimize websites for performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.Collaborate with graphic designers and digital team members to translate designs into functional websites.Take projects from initial concept through development and launch.Maintain and enhance existing websites and digital experiences.Stay current with WordPress, web development, AI, and emerging technologies.Identify opportunities to improve websites and development processes through new technologies. Qualifications Mid-level professional experience developing WordPress websites.Strong hands-on experience with WordPress development and customization.Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience developing responsive and mobile-friendly websites.Experience with API development and integration.Working knowledge of back-end web development.Experience troubleshooting and maintaining production WordPress websites.Understanding of website architecture, databases, and web application functionality.Ability to collaborate with designers and translate visual concepts into functional websites.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to manage projects from initial concept through final development.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a digital team. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing custom WordPress themes, templates, or plugins.Agency or multi-client web development experience.Experience with AI tools, emerging technologies, or incorporating new technologies into web development. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on WordPress Developer who understands both the creative and technical sides of web development. They are strong with WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, can work with APIs and back-end functionality, and are comfortable collaborating with designers to bring websites from concept to launch. They are also curious about AI and emerging technologies and enjoy finding better ways to build and improve digital experiences. The salary range for this position is 40/hr to 46/hr.
