Position Title: Senior AWS Cloud Administrator (GovCloud & Kubernetes) Location: Washington, DC area | Full-time onsite U.S. citizenship required Through December 2026, with possibility of extension Position Responsibilities: We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Administrator to architect, deploy, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure within AWS GovCloud, supporting containerized workloads, infrastructure automation, and emerging cloud solutions. The selected individual will play a vital role in delivering highly-available, scalable, and compliant environments that enable innovation and operational efficiency in a federal security context. Key responsibilities include: Designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS GovCloud platforms aligned with industry best practices and federal security requirements.Deploying and managing containerized applications using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Kubernetes, ensuring scalable and reliable operations.Building, maintaining, and documenting infrastructure as code using Terraform, and leveraging GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and updates.Supporting cloud infrastructure needs for emerging AI/ML initiatives and enabling adoption of modern cloud-native capabilities.Automating operational, maintenance, and administrative tasks to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Troubleshooting complex platform and infrastructure issues to ensure the stability, security, and availability of cloud-hosted solutions.Ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 and FISMA controls relevant to federal information systems.Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to contribute to cloud architecture, platform strategy, and technology roadmaps. Essential Skills, Experience U.S. citizenship is required for this position.Proven, hands-on experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure and supporting production workloads in a secure, high-availability environment.Direct experience with deployment and management of containerized applications using Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.Expertise in using Terraform for infrastructure as code, along with hands-on experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitLab).Demonstrated ability to automate administrative and operational processes, leveraging scripting and infrastructure automation best practices.Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex cloud platform and networking issues.Comprehensive understanding of operating within environments governed by NIST 800-53 and FISMA frameworks, or the ability to quickly learn and apply these controls.Ability to work full-time, onsite in the Washington, DC area, collaborating within an agile, cross-disciplinary team.Qualifications: Experience with AWS GovCloud environments is strongly preferred.Familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls, FISMA compliance, and federal IT security requirements.Experience supporting or implementing AI/ML infrastructure and enabling data-driven cloud solutions.Hands-on experience using GitLab for source control and pipeline automation; familiarity with Jira is a plus.Relevant AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer are desirable.Background working in financial services or federal government sectors is advantageous.
