Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Auterion builds a cutting-edge operating system for autonomous robotic systems that empower a diverse range of platforms to perform surveillance, reconnaissance, inspection, mapping and logistics tasks. Our industry-leading software drives the adoption of robotic fleets and is recognized by the U.S. government as the future standard for its drone programs. We are looking for an embedded (microcontroller) software engineer to contribute to different parts of our software stack: The open-source autopilot project PX4 running on ARM Cortex-M devices.Related open-source projects like Mavlink, UAVCAN.Our own autopilot hardware product Skynode.Our own testing system for Skynode manufacturing and CI.Simulation of vision-based navigation and vehicle dynamics Responsibilities Help design and implement new guidance, navigation and control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)Collaborate with engineers to solve complex technical challenges related to UAV design and control systemsAdd and maintain new features, drivers and targets to PX4 and Auterion applications, also working closely with the Apps & SDK team to provide feedback on toolingSupport OEM integrations and end customers directly and onsite as neededImplement and maintain robust testing and quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability, safety, and performance of these systemsExtend and maintain the simulation pipeline, enabling data collection and testing of new Auterion applications and PX4 features Qualifications and Skills 3+ years of experience in relevant software and engineering rolesB.Sc. / M.Sc. in Robotics, Computer Science or related fieldsExperience delivering robotic systems on significant government or enterprise programsProficient in C/C++ development on RT and Linux platformsDeep understanding of programming robotic systems in ROS/ROS2Working knowledge of PX4 or comparable auto-pilot technology and simulationUnderstanding of containerization technologies such as DockerStrong written and verbal communication skills to keep a global team fully informedWillingness to travel and meet with end customers including into elevated risk areas.EU citizenship required Benefits Flexible working hoursStock OptionsGenerous holiday allowancePension plan Extended social security package Enhanced maternity & paternity leaveWellpass membership About Auterion We are building the leading software platform for AI-powered autonomous systems for enterprise and government customers.
