Electrical and Commissioning Engineer

How to Contribute to Our Vision To ensure business continuity and address the growing volume of technical assessments and project-specific requirements within Generator Systems, we are seeking an Electrical & Commissioning Engineer in Hungary or in Portugal or in Poland. This role is critical to maintaining high service quality and managing the increased operational load for generator protection systems (Generatorschutz) globally. To address these business aims, the role focuses on electrical design, commissioning, and technical support specifically for generator protection systems. These core areas ensure the reliable execution of projects, timely technical evaluations, and seamless on-site start-up activities. Given the focus on generator protection, the ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering, hands-on commissioning experience, and deep knowledge of protection relays and systems. Professional experience in power generation or heavy industries, along with fluency in English, is essential for success in this role. How You’ll Make An Impact Perform technical assessments, engineering evaluations, and project-specific design activities for generator protection systems.Develop electrical schematics, protection concepts, and relay configurations to ensure reliable and compliant solutions.Analyze customer requirements and technical specifications to deliver optimized engineering outcomes.Execute on-site commissioning, testing, and start-up activities for generator protection and electrical control systems.Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and control system issues, including protection relay parameterization and functional testing.Collaborate with customers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure the safe and timely execution of projects.Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle to internal stakeholders and external customers.Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, and technical records while ensuring high standards of quality and service delivery. Certifications Electrical Safety Certification (e.g., high-voltage safety)Standard Field Service Safety Passport (e.g., SCC or equivalent) Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, commissioning, or field service, with a strong focus on generator protection systems.Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German or Hungarian is highly beneficial for project coordination. Skills Strong knowledge of generator protection systems, protection relays, and relay parameterization.Proven experience in electrical engineering, including electrical design, schematic interpretation, and control system architecture.Solid understanding of power plant electrical systems, generator operations, and related industrial processes.Hands-on experience with commissioning, testing, and start-up of electrical and control systems in industrial environments.Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities for electrical, protection, and automation systems.Proficiency in the use of electrical testing, measurement, and commissioning equipment.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and identify effective solutions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in international, customer-facing, and multidisciplinary project teams.
