Java Software Developer

Attribution Search is partnering with a leading hedge fund looking to add a Java Software Developer to its growing technology team. This is a hands-on engineering role working on business-critical trading technology, contributing to systems supporting 24/7 trading activity across both digital assets and traditional financial markets. You’ll join a small, high-performing engineering team, working closely with experienced developers to build and enhance a multi-venue collateral management platform, alongside new reference data and accounting infrastructure. The Role You’ll contribute across both new development and existing production systems, with exposure to distributed, real-time and event-driven architecture. Responsibilities: Develop and enhance the firm's multi-venue collateral management platformBuild integrations with trading venues to source account, position, collateral and operational dataBuild scalable and reliable software supporting the firm's investment and trading activityMaintain, debug and improve existing production systems alongside developing new functionalityWork closely with engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutionsParticipate in code reviews and technical discussions while learning from experienced engineersUse modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality Must Have: 2+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong commercial experience with JavaGood understanding of object-oriented programming, testing and version controlExposure to or an understanding of distributed systemsInterest in working with real-time, event-driven and highly available systemsExperience with SQL/databasesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilityA proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to take ownership of well-defined tasksStrong communication and collaboration skills This is an excellent opportunity for a Java engineer early in their career to gain exposure to sophisticated trading technology, distributed systems and financial markets within a highly technical investment environment.
