Junior AI Assisted Developer

Salary: £30k - £40k depending on experience Location: Office in Halifax and Bolton/ some work from home Probation: Six months We’re looking for a technically minded, curious developer who is keen to use AI tools to investigate problems, develop solutions and deliver improvements. Working alongside a team of developers and a project manager, you’ll support our largest client across a varied and complex technology stack, with SAP at the heart of its ERP systems. We’re expanding our use of AI to improve visibility across the business, streamline processes and help our team deliver changes faster. Our environment includes custom dashboards, a data warehouse and MCP connections that allow AI tools to interact with many of our systems. You won’t be expected to know everything on day one. You will need solid technical foundations, a willingness to learn as you go and the judgement to check that the solutions you deliver work as intended. What you’ll do Use AI development tools to investigate bugs, understand existing code and build and deploy fixes.Develop and improve dashboards, internal tools and business processes.Investigate customer service system issues and provide technical support.Work with data, APIs and connected systems to understand problems and deliver practical solutions.Support SAP configuration changes and related development, with guidance from the team.Test your work, review AI-generated suggestions and document changes clearly.Work closely with developers and the project manager to manage priorities and keep work moving. What we’re looking for A practical grounding in software development, gained through work, education, an apprenticeship or personal projects.The ability to read code, investigate errors and approach problems logically.A willingness to use AI as part of everyday development, while taking responsibility for the quality of your work.Curiosity, initiative and the confidence to ask questions when you need help.Clear communication and the ability to work independently from home while staying connected to the team.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change. Experience with SQL, APIs, Git, Devops, dashboards or deployment processes would be useful. Familiarity with SAP, MCP or AI coding tools would also be welcome, but a willingness to learn matters more than knowing every part of our stack.
