Engineering Team Lead Up to £60,000 | Fully Remote (UK) Job Summary We're hiring an Engineering Team Lead to join a new squad working on a major project in the energy sector. This role is around 80% hands-on development, with the remaining time spent coordinating with the Product Owner and client on delivery, priorities and technical direction. You'll provide technical leadership and mentoring within the team, without formal line management responsibility. Genuine, direct experience working for a supplier or vendor in the energy sector is essential, understanding how the market works, how suppliers operate, and the regulatory and pricing landscape they navigate. This isn't about ticking a box, it's about being able to walk into the work already understanding the terminology, the pressures, and what "good" looks like for an energy business. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain complex software systems and applicationsLead the architecture and technical direction of the project, ensuring best practice in design and implementationCoach and mentor fellow engineers, sharing knowledge and leading by exampleGuide work distribution and contribute to project governance, without formal line managementCollaborate closely with the Product Owner and client to translate business needs into deliverable technical workInvestigate and resolve complex technical problemsContribute to the ongoing improvement of development processes and toolingRequirements Genuine, hands-on experience working for a supplier or vendor in the energy sector, not just adjacent exposureStrong, current C#/.NET experience, with Blazor or a similar modern front end frameworkStrong SQL Server experienceProven ability to mentor and provide technical leadership to other developersComfortable working in an Agile environmentConfident communicator, able to explain technical detail to both technical and non-technical audiencesFully remote, based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to client sites. Immediate start preferred.
