Senior Platform Engineer £100,000–£130,000 basic + benefits UK Remote I’m partnering with a high-growth technology business looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help shape the next phase of its platform engineering function. Following the acquisition of a new exchange, the team is tackling a significant engineering challenge: evolving its platform architecture to support a highly available, low-latency distributed system. This is an opportunity to join a small engineering team at a pivotal stage, with genuine influence over architectural decisions, platform standards and the direction of the infrastructure. The role Design and build cloud-native infrastructure across AWS and Kubernetes.Develop scalable, highly available platforms, balancing performance, reliability and resilience.Establish infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform.Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling and observability.Collaborate across platform, application and exchange engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.Take ownership of projects from initial design through to production, with the autonomy to shape solutions rather than simply execute tickets. What we’re looking for Strong, hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform.A background in Platform Engineering, DevOps or a closely related engineering discipline.Experience building and operating distributed systems, ideally in environments where latency and availability are critical.Proficiency in Java, Go or Python, with an understanding of the relationship between infrastructure and application code.A proactive, ownership-driven approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across distributed engineering teams.
