About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure engineering.
The role focuses on building, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting highly available cloud infrastructure and services at scale.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of SRE principles, cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, networking, security and DevOps practices, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure and application stacks.
Cloud Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Sheffield, UK
Working Model: Hybrid — 3 days onsite mandatory
Contract: Subcontract - Inside IR35
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, operate and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve reliability, scalability, performance and operational efficiency.Build and maintain highly available and high-load cloud/web infrastructure.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and operational processes using Terraform, ARM, Ansible, Chef or similar tools.Develop scripts and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI or similar technologies.Work with Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues across cloud, networking, operating systems and services.Monitor infrastructure and applications using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus and Grafana.Work closely with multiple technical/support teams to manage and resolve service issues.Support security, IAM, compliance, auditing and cloud governance activities.Maintain technical documentation and follow structured change management and Agile practices.Required Technical Skills
