Description
An experienced ICT Infrastructure Specialist is required for a 3- 4 month contract role based in Perth to upgrade and modernise an enterprise remote access VPN environment, improving security, resilience, capacity and long-term supportability.
The environment includes Microsoft Always On VPN, Windows Server RRAS/NPS, Active Directory, PKI, Entra ID, Intune and Azure networking services.
Key Responsibilities
Review the existing VPN environment and identify risks and improvements.
Assess security, authentication, certificates, encryption, capacity and scalability.
Evaluate Azure VPN Gateway and Azure Virtual WAN as future-state options.
Define the target architecture and migration approach.
Implement network, security, infrastructure and endpoint changes.
Plan, test and execute the VPN migration.
Produce technical documentation and complete operational handover.
Decommission legacy infrastructure and provide post-implementation support.
Required Experience
Strong experience designing, upgrading and migrating enterprise remote access VPN solutions.
Microsoft Always On VPN, including user/device tunnels and ProfileXML.
Windows Server RRAS/NPS, Active Directory and PKI/Certificate Services.
Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access and Microsoft Intune.
Strong knowledge of IKEv2/IPsec, SSTP/TLS and VPN security.
Azure VPN Gateway, Virtual WAN, DNS and Traffic Manager.
Firewalls, NAT, DMZs and network segmentation.
Experience with remote access technologies including Fortinet, Palo Alto and Cisco.
Strong architecture, migration, testing and technical documentation skills.
