Cloud Operations / DevOps Engineer (AWS) | Initial 6-Month Contract The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations / DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join a high-performing technology team responsible for the ongoing enhancement, support and optimisation of a large-scale cloud-based customer engagement platform. Working within an agile product environment, you will play a key role in designing, automating and maintaining cloud infrastructure, enabling reliable software delivery, and driving best-practice DevOps and DevSecOps capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys working across cloud operations, platform engineering, automation, security, and continuous improvement initiatives. Scope of Work You will be responsible for supporting and evolving a mission-critical cloud platform, ensuring stability, scalability and operational excellence across environments. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, architecture, security and product teams to deliver robust cloud solutions, automate operational processes and improve deployment efficiency through modern DevOps practices. Day-to-Day Duties of the Role Design, build and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure to support enterprise applications and services.Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.Create, optimise and support CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency, reliability and release quality.Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot incidents and implement proactive measures to improve system availability and stability.Collaborate with development, security and architecture teams to ensure cloud solutions align with operational and security standards.Support cloud platform enhancements, integrations and automation initiatives while contributing to continuous improvement across the engineering environment. Skills Required for the Role Demonstrated experience as a DevOps, Cloud Operations or Platform Engineer within enterprise-scale AWS environments.Strong hands-on expertise across AWS services including Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB and IAM.Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar technologies.Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling and automated deployment practices using platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent.Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, cloud security controls and integrating security into development and deployment workflows.Experience working with cloud-based customer engagement or contact centre platforms will be highly regarded, though not essential.Additional InformationInitial 6-month contract.Flexible location across Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.Hybrid working environment.Opportunity to work on a large-scale cloud transformation and platform modernisation initiative.
