Lead Data Systems Data Engineer Canberra ACT NV1 required 12-Month Contract + 2*12 months Extension Options Are you an experienced Data Engineer with a passion for building secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise data platforms? We are seeking a Lead Data Systems Data Engineer to join a high-profile Federal Government program focused on enhancing enterprise data and analytics capabilities. You will play a key role in designing, supporting, and evolving critical data platforms that underpin data-driven decision-making across a complex and highly regulated environment Key Responsibilitie Design, implement and improve secure and supportable data platforms and analytical environments. Develop and maintain data pipelines, data models, integrations and database solutions. Administer and support analytical platforms and tools, including SQL Server, SAS, R, Python and Power BI. Deploy and support data-related services in Microsoft Azure, following approved architecture, security and change processes. Support modelling and development environments using relevant virtualisation, operating system and container technologies. Develop scripts and automation to improve deployment, monitoring, testing and operational support. Produce clear technical designs, procedures, runbooks and support guidance. Provide technical advice, knowledge transfer and stakeholder support. Key skills and requirments Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting secure and reliable enterprise data platforms or analytical environments.Demonstrated data engineering experience across SQL, data modelling, integration, pipelines and performance improvement including Practical experience deploying or supporting data-related services in Microsoft AzureDemonstrated experience supporting analytics technologies such as SAS, R, Python, SQL Server or Power BI.Demonstrated experience with scripting, automation and modern development or platform tooling.Demonstrated experience supporting modelling, research or statistical computing environments in government or a large enterprise, specifically specialist platforms such as SAS, RStudio or Posit, G-Cubed or PLEXOS.Relevant qualifications or certifications in data engineering, Microsoft Azure, databases, DevOps or related technologies.Demonstrated Experience working in an AI-enabled and integrated workplace.**Please note due to the requirments of this role you must hold an active NV1 clearence to be considered** If you wish to apply for this position, please submit your resume by clicking the 'Apply Now' button.
