Role Description The Senior/Risk Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in either Adelaide/Brisbane/Perth, with flexibility for onsite/in office/work from home. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring financial, operational, and project-related risks across heavy industrial and mining infrastructure. Day-to-day activities include performing detailed risk analyses, supporting internal and external audits, and developing risk mitigation strategies and controls. The Senior Risk Specialist will collaborate with business leaders, engineering and technical teams to ensure risk frameworks are embedded in planning, execution, and reporting. Additional responsibilities include preparing clear risk reports and recommendations for leadership, maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement of risk management practices and tools. Qualifications Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends and root causes.Finance and risk analysis skills to evaluate project viability, asset performance, and exposure to financial and operational risks.Auditing skills, including experience with internal controls, compliance reviews, and process assurance.Excellent communication skills to present risk insights, influence stakeholders, and prepare clear documentation and reports.Experience in risk management within engineering, asset management, consulting, or related industries.Proficiency with risk assessment tools, spreadsheets, and relevant software platforms.Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, business, risk management, or a related discipline; advanced certifications in risk or audit are an advantage.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
