Infrastructure Engineer About the Role We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help build and operate the infrastructure powering a high-scale video platform. You’ll work on systems responsible for video processing, storage, delivery, and reliable playback across a wide range of devices and network conditions. This role is highly hands-on and sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, developer infrastructure, and video delivery. You’ll help design systems that remain fast and reliable as traffic, customers, and video volume grow. You’ll work closely with engineers across the platform to improve scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency. What You’ll Do Design, build, and operate highly scalable cloud infrastructure supporting high-volume video workloads.Build and maintain infrastructure for video ingestion, transcoding, storage, processing, and delivery.Develop systems that can automatically scale based on traffic and workload demand, including scale-to-zero and burst capacity patterns.Improve the reliability and performance of globally distributed video delivery systems.Work with CDN, caching, networking, and data-transfer technologies to optimize latency and bandwidth utilization.Build and maintain infrastructure supporting adaptive-bitrate video delivery and segmented/chunked media delivery.Develop tooling and automation that reduces manual operational work and improves engineering velocity.Establish robust monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and incident-response practices.Identify and eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks across compute, storage, networking, and media-processing workloads.Design systems for graceful degradation, fault tolerance, and recovery from infrastructure failures.Collaborate with application engineers to build reliable APIs and backend services that interact with infrastructure components.Help establish infrastructure standards around security, availability, performance, and cost efficiency.Participate in debugging production issues and improving systems based on real-world operational data.Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales to significantly higher workloads. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, cloud engineering, or a closely related field.Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Go, Python, Rust, Java, or C++.Strong understanding of Linux, networking, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Experience designing and operating highly available production systems.Strong understanding of containers, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code.Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or comparable technologies.Experience building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.Familiarity with observability systems, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.Understanding of HTTP, DNS, TLS, TCP/IP, caching, CDNs, and other core web/networking concepts.Experience troubleshooting complex production infrastructure and performance issues.Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, capacity management, and fault tolerance. Nice to Have Experience with video infrastructure, media processing, streaming, or content delivery systems.Familiarity with HLS, adaptive bitrate streaming, video codecs, transcoding pipelines, or media packaging.Experience operating globally distributed systems or CDN infrastructure.Experience with high-throughput data pipelines and large-scale object storage.Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems.Experience optimizing infrastructure for both performance and cloud cost.Familiarity with distributed queues, asynchronous processing, and workload orchestration.Experience building infrastructure for products with rapidly changing traffic patterns.Experience working in an early-stage or high-growth engineering environment.
