About The Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices that underpin our warehouse and shuttle systems. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the evolution of our internal frameworks for messaging, logging, eventing, and service communication, ensuring our platform remains robust and adaptable to future needs. The role involves translating customer requirements into tailored automation solutions, from initial analysis and solution design to implementation and deployment. You will work on designing and implementing architectures, interfaces, and integrations with various software and automation components, ensuring seamless communication and operation across different systems. Additionally, you will participate in software testing, system stabilization, and support during go-live phases, providing critical contributions to project success. As part of your responsibilities, you will conduct code reviews, uphold quality standards, and develop reusable solutions that can be integrated into our standard software platform. Mentoring junior developers and collaborating closely with product owners, QA teams, and other technical teams will be essential to facilitate knowledge sharing and project cohesion. Active engagement in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automation tools like GitHub Actions, Nuke, Docker, and SonarCloud, will be expected to ensure efficient deployment cycles and high-quality software releases. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess several years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on C# and .NET technologies. Proven expertise in implementing software in customer projects, coupled with a secure handling of version control systems like Git, is required. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is highly desirable. Candidates should have a good understanding of REST APIs, distributed service communication, and integration techniques. Knowledge of clean code principles, software quality assurance, and maintainable architecture design is critical. Strong decision-making skills, clear communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are vital for success. Excellent verbal and written proficiency in both German and English (minimum C1 level) is mandatory. Willingness to travel for project-related activities, including integration, commissioning, and go-live support (approximately 15% travel), is also required. While familiarity with all technologies in our stack is not mandatory, a strong foundation in .NET, distributed systems, and software architecture, along with enthusiasm to learn new technologies, is essential. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the ongoing development of scalable and high-performance microservices in C#/.NET, utilizing Microsoft Orleans for backend operations within our warehouse and shuttle systems. Your role includes shaping and enhancing our internal frameworks that support messaging, logging, eventing, and service communication, ensuring they meet evolving project needs. Implementing customer-specific requirements for warehouse automation projects is a core aspect of your work, covering analysis, solution design, and implementation phases. You will design and develop system architectures, interfaces, and integrations with various software and automation components, ensuring interoperability and robustness. Quality assurance through software, integration, and system testing, as well as supporting deployment, stabilization, and go-live activities at customer sites, will be part of your responsibilities. Conducting code reviews, maintaining high coding standards, and translating project solutions into reusable components for our standard platform are key tasks. Mentoring junior developers and working closely with product owners, QA teams, and other technical units such as Shuttle, Stations, and IT teams will be crucial for project success. You will also actively participate in DevOps and CI/CD processes, leveraging tools like GitHub Actions, Nuke, Docker, and SonarCloud to streamline development and deployment workflows.
