About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Web Application Developer (d/f/m) to join our Digital Operator Solutions team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications that support our critical operational infrastructure. Your expertise will influence the architecture and deployment of microservices-based platforms, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and adaptable to future technological advancements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, system architects, and external vendors, you will lead the entire application lifecycle from conceptualization through deployment and ongoing optimization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the digital backbone of our organization, contributing to innovative solutions that impact national security and space missions globally. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in modern web development and cloud architecture. Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and Angular is essential, complemented by a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services such as S3 and Load Balancers. Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is required, along with practical knowledge of event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. Candidates should have a solid grasp of NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB, and be familiar with ITIL frameworks and Agile methodologies. Fluency in German is mandatory, with proficiency in English considered a plus. Additionally, familiarity with German security and governmental standards is highly desirable. Certifications in Kubernetes, experience managing offshore development teams, and expertise in CI/CD pipelines are advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities Lead the full lifecycle development of microservices-based web applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.Define and evolve the company's IT architecture, including software design and infrastructure, to support scalability, security, and future growth.Apply ITIL best practices to maintain operational excellence, actively participating in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.Manage relationships with external software development providers, ensuring deliverables meet quality and architectural standards.Implement and enforce security policies through secure coding practices and rigorous application configuration management.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and developer productivity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet evolving technological and business needs.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the existing technical ecosystem.
