Senior Frontend Software Engineer - Lead Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for a suite of consumer-facing web and mobile products. This is a hands-on engineering role designed for someone who enjoys building software, guiding technical direction, and helping distributed teams execute effectively. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to create exceptional customer experiences while ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability across a growing platform. The ideal candidate combines strong frontend expertise with product thinking, architectural judgment, and a passion for mentoring other engineers. What You'll Do Technical Leadership Lead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact software initiatives.Translate business and product objectives into clear technical plans and execution strategies.Identify architectural tradeoffs, dependencies, and risks early in the development lifecycle.Help establish and maintain development standards, best practices, and technical direction. Software Development Build and maintain modern web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.Contribute directly to production code and participate in key technical decisions.Develop and maintain integrations with backend services and APIs.Support mobile application initiatives and cross-platform user experiences. Platform Reliability & Scale Improve application performance, scalability, and resiliency.Drive efforts around observability, monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis.Support systems designed to handle high-volume transactional traffic and revenue-critical events.Participate in production support and on-call activities as needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Product and Design teams to improve customer experiences from discovery through post-purchase engagement.Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and engineering teams across multiple initiatives.Coordinate work across internal stakeholders and external development partners.Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Mentorship & Team Development Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.Facilitate architecture discussions and encourage sound engineering decision-making.Promote a culture of quality, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.Help develop engineering talent through coaching, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Required Qualifications 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.Experience leading technical delivery for a product, platform, or engineering team.Strong expertise with:ReactNext.jsTypeScriptJavaScriptExperience with Node.js and API-driven architectures.Experience designing and supporting customer-facing applications in production environments.Strong understanding of:Distributed systemsAuthentication and authorizationCaching strategiesThird-party integrationsAsynchronous workflowsExperience with cloud-native development and deployment practices.Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with React Native, Expo, or mobile application development.AWS, Vercel, or other modern cloud platform experience.Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Python, or similar backend technologies.Experience implementing observability practices using tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or similar platforms.Strong testing background including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, checkout systems, payment platforms, or multi-tenant SaaS applications.
