Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on designing, analysing, and maintaining electrical systems in the mining, heavy industrial and utility industries. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Develop electrical and control systems designs for industrial applications, including reviewing client inputs (P&ID’s, Instrumentation lists/datasheets, SOW) and producing electrical designs.Conduct detailed design of electrical circuits, including single-line diagrams, schematics, terminations, earthing, cable schedules and layout drawings for MCC’s, PLC and RTU system designs.Collaborate with project teams to integrate electrical designs into broader system requirements, including reviewing existing designs for completeness with client and project requirements ensuring deliverables are suitable for client submission. Documentation & Drafting: Assist with the production, review and updating of electrical drafting using AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar via red-lines and collaborating with design/drafting teams.Create, maintain and review detailed engineering documentation, including Specifications, Scope of Works, Calculations (LV Cable, Temperature Rise, Max demand, Earthing), Bill of materials (BOM), and Design reports (Protection/Load studies).Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian standards, client requirements and safety regulations. Project Support: Assist with the installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.Work closely with clients and contractors to deliver tailored engineering solutions. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.5-10 years experience in electrical design, including control systems and low-voltage (LV) systems.Proven knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Desirable Skills: Proficiency in electrical drafting tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.Experience with electrical design software such as PowerCAD or similar.HV design experience – Design development (Drawings, calculations, system analysis software such as PTW, Powerfactory etc).Experience with PLCs, SCADA, or control systems integration.Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainable electrical design practices.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.Proven track record delivering projects for the mining industry.NER, RPEQ and/or Chartered registration with Engineers AustraliaAbility to interface with clients and develop proposals for project requirements.EEHA Qualifications/experience.Functional safety experience.
