Systems and Cloud Engineer

Anglicare Southern Queensland are seeking a Cloud and Systems Engineer to join our Technology and Digital team based in Fortitude Valley. Reporting to the Technology Operations Manager, you will play a key role in keeping critical platforms patched, backed up, monitored and recoverable while supporting security operations, vulnerability management and remediation activities, supporting the retirement of legacy systems and Anglicare's transition to a cloud-first environment. You will also provide specialist service, guidance and advice to support the organisation's core business operations. How you will help make a difference Administer Windows server environments, Active Directory / Entra ID, file and print services, and end-user computing platforms.Perform operational database administration including backups, recovery, performance monitoring, patching and access control.Execute backup, restore and recovery processes and participate in disaster recovery testing.Apply patches, vulnerability remediations, and identity and access controls to agreed standards.Support security operations through vulnerability identification, assessment, remediation and ongoing management across server, cloud and end-user computing environments.Administer VMware vSphere and Citrix environments during the data centre transition period.Automate repetitive administration tasks through scripting, including PowerShell.Maintain accurate system documentation, CMDB records and operational runbooks.Monitor system performance and capacity, identify improvement opportunities and support continual improvement initiatives.Support cloud migration activities including discovery, dependency mapping, migration support and post-migration validation.Plan and execute the decommissioning of legacy servers, systems and on-premises infrastructure as part of the cloud-first transition.Contribute to knowledge sharing, cross-skilling and a positive, inclusive team culture.What you will bring to the role Current National Police Check OR Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.Relevant IT qualification (degree, diploma or certification) or equivalent demonstrated experience.Demonstrated systems administration experience in a Windows/Microsoft environment.Demonstrated scripting and automation capability and cloud administration skills, or a commitment to develop these capabilities.Demonstrated understanding of security operations, vulnerability management, patch management and security remediation within enterprise infrastructure environments.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Ability to support operational resilience through documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.ITIL 4 Foundation certification (desirable).Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, M365 or Windows Server (desirable).SQL Server administration experience (desirable).VMware and/or Citrix administration experience (desirable).Experience with Rapid7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Rapid7 Vulnerability Management, or equivalent security monitoring and vulnerability management platforms (desirable).Experience in aged care, health or community services environments (desirable).Interested?
