About The Role As the Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead major capital projects that support the renewal of critical mill assets and infrastructure. Working closely with site teams and contractors, you’ll deliver upgrades and innovative engineering solutions that improve reliability, performance and operational outcomes. This hands-on role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects while providing opportunities for career growth into Engineering Superintendent, Project Manager or Engineering Manager roles. Role Responsibilities Lead the delivery of major capital and engineering projects, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective outcomes. Partner with Operations, Maintenance and contractors to modernise and enhance critical mill assets. Oversee project budgets, schedules, contractors and risk to deliver successful project outcomes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen reliability, efficiency and sustainability. Foster strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing safety culture. About You We are looking for someone who brings: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent recognised tertiary qualification) with eligibility for professional engineering membership.Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects in heavy industrial, manufacturing, power generation, mining, sugar, process plant or related operating environments.Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, motor control centres (MCCs), switchboards, transformers, protection systems, variable speed drives (VSDs), instrumentation and control systems.Experience in the development, design, installation, commissioning and optimisation of electrical and control system projects.Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, electrical safety legislation and engineering compliance requirements.Proven ability to manage project scope, budget, risk, procurement, contractor performance and project delivery outcomes.Ability to interpret operational and asset performance data to develop technically and commercially sound investment solutions.Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations and maintenance teams. Desirable Experience with industrial automation, PLC/SCADA systems, power system studies and reliability improvement initiatives.Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and managing capital programs across geographically diverse sites.Experience within the sugar, renewables, food processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
