Description

Cybersecurity Engineers, Application Security & Secure Backend Specialists. We are seeking experienced Cybersecurity Engineers, Application Security Specialists, Security Software Engineers, and Backend Developers to contribute to a technical AI project focused on secure software engineering, vulnerability analysis, debugging, and code quality. What You’ll Do Analyze and resolve software bugs, vulnerabilities, and security issues across diverse codebases. Implement new features and improve existing functionality using Python, Java, Rust, Go, C++, TypeScript, or similar languages. Review backend services, APIs, application logic, and system integrations for correctness and security. Perform codebase audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security-focused code reviews. Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability, reliability, security, and performance. Identify insecure coding patterns, weak validation, access-control problems, and other application security risks. Investigate performance bottlenecks and recommend scalable technical improvements. Document findings, remediation recommendations, and technical reasoning clearly. Provide real-world software engineering and cybersecurity insights that improve AI training data quality. Software engineering backgrounds may include Backend Engineers, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, Platform Engineers, API Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers with strong security experience. Cloud and DevSecOps backgrounds may include DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud Security Engineers, Security Automation Engineers, Infrastructure Security Engineers, and CI/CD Security Specialists. Additional relevant backgrounds include Security Architects, Security Researchers, Threat Analysts, Vulnerability Management Specialists, and Technical Security Auditors with hands-on coding experience. Relevant Cybersecurity Experience Strong candidates may have experience with application security, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, secure code review, security auditing, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, and secure software development. Experience identifying security issues directly within source code or production-style applications is especially valuable. Requirements Strong professional experience in cybersecurity, application security, secure software engineering, penetration testing, or a closely related field. Proficiency in at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, TypeScript, or a comparable language. Strong experience with debugging, bug fixing, and working within complex codebases. Hands-on cybersecurity experience including vulnerability assessment, security auditing, penetration testing, or secure code review. Good understanding of backend systems, APIs, software architecture, and secure development practices. Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts. Ability to communicate complex security findings clearly and concisely. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Preferred Background Professional Application Security, Product Security, DevSecOps, or Offensive Security experience. Experience performing penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, or security code reviews. Experience with OWASP, CWE, CVE, secure SDLC, and modern application security practices. Experience building or reviewing backend services and APIs. Experience refactoring large or legacy codebases. Experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks. Experience with cloud security, containers, CI/CD security, or infrastructure security. Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, CISSP, Security+, CEH, GIAC, or equivalent are helpful but not required.
