About The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to be the foundational technical architect for PLIQ. As the first developer in this role, you will be responsible for establishing the core architecture, data models, and codebase that will underpin the platform. Your work will set the technical direction and standards for the entire product, shaping its scalability, security, and maintainability. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to make key decisions regarding technology stack, hosting, and security strategies, ensuring the product aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, particularly in data protection and GDPR compliance. This role offers the unique opportunity to build a product from the ground up, with significant influence over its future development. As the product grows, you will have the chance to expand your team by recruiting and leading additional developers, ultimately shaping the technical DNA of PLIQ. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire development lifecycle, from designing the architecture to implementing features, ensuring high code quality, and managing deployment processes. The role requires a proactive approach to evaluating technical feasibility, estimating effort, and integrating AI-augmented development tools to enhance productivity and innovation. Qualifications Minimum of six years of professional experience in software development, with several years in operational responsibility for a productive B2B system.Practical experience with multi-tenant applications and permission concepts.Proficiency in modern full-stack environments such as TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and cloud hosting in Germany, with a strong understanding of data privacy and information security, including GDPR-compliant processing, encryption, and audit logging.Experience with AI-supported development tools or a clear willingness to adopt and work with such technologies.Fluent German language skills at least at C1 level, as our technical documentation and client communications are primarily in German. Responsibilities As the pioneering developer, you will build the technical foundation of PLIQ, defining the architecture, data models, and coding standards that will guide future development.You will make critical decisions on technology stack, hosting strategies, security architecture, and whether to develop in-house or outsource certain components, ensuring the platform is reliable, scalable, and secure.Responsible for the overall quality of the codebase, including implementing testing strategies, establishing development processes, and managing system operations.Evaluate technical requirements for feasibility and effort, providing guidance and making final decisions on technical solutions, especially regarding the integration of AI and agentic coding tools.Lead the development team as it grows, participating in the recruitment and providing technical leadership and mentorship to new team members.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the product meets user needs and regulatory standards, maintaining a focus on data security and GDPR compliance. Benefits Planhof offers a competitive salary at senior/lead levels, including a fixed annual amount of 0.000 € plus Christmas bonus and a virtual equity participation (VSOP) ranging from 0.75% to 1.5%, with standard vesting conditions over four years and a one-year cliff. There is also a contractual pathway for increased ownership as the role evolves into an engineering leadership position. The role provides significant creative freedom, as PLIQ is being developed from scratch without legacy systems or pre-existing technical constraints. The employment contract is permanent, with remote work as the standard arrangement, supported by modern work equipment. Occasional in-person review meetings are held in Hamburg.
