Technical Program Engineer, Gas Dispersion Plates Semiconductor Showerheads/Gas Distribution Plates COMPANY AND ROLE CONTEXT NxEdge, an Enpro company, provides vertically integrated engineered materials, precision machining, surface technologies, cleaning, coating, and refurbishment solutions supporting the global semiconductor value chain. The Product Line Engineer supports semiconductor gas dispersion systems, showerheads, and related precision components by coordinating the front end of the product lifecycle—from customer requirements, quoting inputs, design intent, and manufacturability review through readiness for integration. This role reports to the Director of Product Management – Gas Dispersion Systems and Showerheads and serves as a cross-functional bridge between Product Management, Engineering, Commercial, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and the integration team. The position emphasizes early technical alignment, controlled product definition, qualification planning, risk identification, and a clean transfer of new parts into integration with the information, documentation, and decision clarity required for successful execution. Overview Reports to the Director of Product Management – Gas Dispersion Systems and Showerheads.Provides front-end product-line engineering support for semiconductor parts, with emphasis on requirements clarity, manufacturability readiness, and integration handoff rather than daily production ownership.Translates customer, market, quality, and manufacturing inputs into clear part requirements, technical assumptions, risk registers, qualification expectations, and integration-ready documentation.Supports the early phases of the product lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, quoting, technical scoping, NPI planning, qualification strategy, and integration of new parts into NPI system.Partners across Boise, Singapore, and other NxEdge locations as needed to reinforce process consistency, knowledge transfer, and “copy exact” execution.Supports customer technical reviews, audits, failure analysis, corrective actions, and product performance discussions. Job Duties Own and coordinate the front-end technical package for assigned semiconductor part families, including customer requirements, drawings, specifications, design assumptions, manufacturability inputs, qualification needs, cost drivers, and integration handoff criteria.Partner with Product Management to develop and maintain market and product requirements, translate voice-of-customer inputs into technical deliverables, and support product roadmap execution.Coordinate new product introduction readiness by aligning technical requirements, manufacturability reviews, risk assessments, validation expectations, first-article requirements, and closure of open technical items before transfer into the integration team.Work with Commercial and Product Management teams during quoting to validate product scope, manufacturing assumptions, cycle times, material requirements, tooling needs, outside processing, technical risk, and non-recurring engineering requirements.Serve as the technical coordination point during the transition from product definition to integration, ensuring part intent, special process considerations, inspection expectations, tooling needs, and open risks are clearly communicated and understood.Lead or coordinate root cause investigations, failure analyses, 8D corrective actions, and recurrence-prevention activities related to returns, customer complaints, and product performance issues.Track front-end product readiness indicators such as requirements completeness, documentation status, qualification risks, technical assumptions, open actions, and integration handoff maturity.Develop and execute cost-reduction and margin-improvement initiatives through design-for-manufacturability, process optimization, tooling improvements, routing accuracy, material utilization, and supplier collaboration.Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, and integration teams to establish a clear launch path, confirm readiness requirements, and reduce ambiguity before new parts enter execution.Support Small Hole Drilling and automation-line execution through process adherence, technical troubleshooting, documentation control, qualification planning, and cross-functional escalation.Promote process consistency and “copy exact” discipline across sites, including documentation alignment, parameter control, training transfer, and change-management rigor.Coordinate engineering changes through the appropriate review and approval process, clearly communicating impact to cost, quality, delivery, inventory, qualification status, and customer commitments.Develop and deliver technical training for operators, technicians, inspectors, and support personnel; verify that training materials remain current with released requirements.Interface with customers and internal stakeholders on technical questions, qualifications, nonconformances, failure analysis, product changes, and recovery actions, escalating significant risks promptly.Prepare concise technical summaries, product dashboards, project updates, decision requests, and risk escalations for the Director of Product Management and cross-functional leadership.Protect customer and company intellectual property, maintain document control, and follow applicable export-control, confidentiality, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.Support product-line strategy work through competitor analysis, capability benchmarking, value-proposition development, and assessment of new applications, materials, coatings, and manufacturing technologies.Participate in customer meetings, facility tours, audits, business reviews, and cross-site technical reviews as required.Complete other product-line engineering and continuous-improvement assignments as directed by the Director of Product Management. Skills, Attributes, Knowledge, And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.Demonstrated engineering aptitude, curiosity, and bias for action in a technical, manufacturing, product-development, or high-precision environment; semiconductor component experience is preferred but not required.Go-getter mindset with the energy, persistence, and initiative to chase down answers, remove roadblocks, and keep new-part activity moving in a fast-paced environment.Strong ownership orientation with a willingness to operate in ambiguity, ask practical questions, coordinate across functions, and follow through until requirements, risks, and next steps are clear.Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, specifications, GD&T, inspection data, process instructions, and technical standards.Comfortable balancing technical detail with speed of execution, knowing when to escalate, when to make recommendations, and when to drive alignment across Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Operations, and integration teams.Demonstrated capability in structured problem solving, root cause analysis, 8D, corrective action, risk assessment, and statistical analysis.Working knowledge of capability analysis, control plans, FMEA, DOE, measurement systems, and SPC preferred.Ability to analyze product cost, routing accuracy, cycle time, yield, scrap, and margin drivers and translate findings into actions.Experience with ERP, CAD, document-control, and business-reporting systems; Epicor experience is highly desired.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data-visualization tools.Strong written, verbal, presentation, customer-interface, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, shift quickly as business needs change, maintain momentum on open actions, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.High attention to detail, commitment to documentation accuracy, and ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
