Engineering Project Manager

📍 Location: Symonston, ACT 🏢 Working arrangement: Predominantly onsite 📅 Contract: 2 November 2026 to 30 June 2028, with a potential 12-month extension 🔐 Clearance: Active NV1 security clearance required at commencement Bridge IT Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support a Federal Government Department in Canberra. This is a senior technical project management role responsible for the planning, coordination, governance and delivery of complex engineering, systems integration, standards implementation and test and evaluation activities. The successful candidate will work closely with systems engineers, technical stakeholders and industry partners to deliver engineering outcomes, technical assurance activities and integration milestones within a complex, highly regulated environment. Key responsibilities include: Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, WBS, risks and stakeholder activitiesCoordinate engineering, systems integration, assurance and verification activitiesManage project schedules, dependencies, risks, budgets, resources and governance reportingCoordinate engineering reviews, technical governance forums and key project milestonesSupport engineering assurance and technical standards implementationCoordinate engagement with internal stakeholders and industry partnersCoordinate prototyping, test and evaluation activitiesProvide reporting across technical risks, engineering issues and integration activities Key experience & requirements: Minimum 15 years’ industry experience in Engineering or Project Management, preferably within ICT environmentsDemonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or capability projectsStrong experience delivering projects within technically complex and highly regulated environmentsMaster’s degree in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Management Studies or a closely related disciplineBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or an equivalent technical disciplineRecognised project management accreditation, or immediate eligibility to obtain one, such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP PractitionerStrong stakeholder engagement skills across senior, technical and industry stakeholdersExperience across systems integration, C4I, interoperability, systems engineering, architecture, verification and validation, test and evaluation, tactical communications or sensor systems will be highly regarded.
