This is firmTwo conversational interview rounds, no take-homeOn-call paid extra and not expected from day one Join an established enterprise in the finance space as their first official Site Reliability Engineer. Not the first in a team. The first, full stop. This is a new capability for the business and a pivotal role in a major client platform integration project. The first job is helping the engineering squads scale the platform for it. After that, you lay out what SRE looks like across the business. You will sit in an enablement team, not ops. Very little BAU. The job is helping engineering and operational squads build and run more reliable systems. What we're looking for Software engineering background. .NET ideal, otherwise Go, TypeScript or Python at a real dev level. Not just scriptingSRE, DevOps or platform experience in an enterprise environmentClear communicator who can influence engineers and be influenced back What you'll be doing: Establishing SLIs, SLOs and error budgets from scratchObservability: instrumenting the platform and helping teams actually use itPragmatic automation to reduce toilIncident response and blameless post-incident reviewsWorking directly with an enterprise client, so very strong communication skills are essential Tech environment: Predominantly .NET / WindowsSome AWS, mostly on-prem. No Kubernetes neededTerraform, Prometheus, Grafana or similar. OpenTelemetry a bonus On experience level: It's a senior role, but the hiring manager isn't hung up on years of experience.
