Security Clearance: None/Not Required Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes that drive operational excellence. In this role, you will analyze product specifications, develop and optimize manufacturing methods, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and production performance. You will provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing operations, develop innovative solutions, and help drive continuous improvement across production operations. Your mission: to develop reliable and efficient manufacturing processes that improve product quality, reduce costs, enhance safety and ergonomics, and support on-time delivery. This is an individual contributor position. This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. Work Schedule: This position supports 2nd Shift operations. Candidates must be available to work the following schedule based on business needs: 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. What You Will Do: Develop and improve manufacturing processes, including assembly instructions, workflow routings, labor standards, tooling, machine programming, and fixture designs. Analyze product specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing methods to develop processes that meet customer and production requirements. Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing and fabrication teams by troubleshooting process and production issues. Support the incorporation of engineering changes and disposition of non-conforming material through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve quality, lower costs, increase productivity, and reduce ergonomic risks using Lean Manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making. Develop and implement tooling and fixtures that improve process efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and manufacturing reliability. Provide technical support to internal manufacturing teams and external suppliers as needed. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and support production goals. Support automation and technology improvements by identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and implement innovative solutions. Apply technical drawing interpretation, GD&T, CAD modeling, and hands-on mechanical/electrical knowledge to support process development and manufacturing activities. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating effectively in both English and Spanish, written and verbal. Qualifications We Prefer: Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience interpreting technical drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools and familiarity with 3D printing technologies. Experience developing manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and production processes. Experience with SMT technologies, manufacturing equipment, and machine programming.
